Meet the Designers

Paul Matassa

Paul Matassa has been with Design House Kitchens for 29 years and has developed an excellent reputation as a salesman of high-end appliances.  After graduating from Loyola College School of Business, Paul came directly to Design House to work in customer service.  He quickly developed a knowledge of appliances and is now an authorized salesman for all high-end brands Design House has to offer, including Viking and Sub-Zero.

Currently, Paul's biggest clients are builders and contractors, with the occasional homeowner for a remodel project.  He's open for appointments and would love to shed some knowledge on your next project.

Diana Bales

Diana Bales

Diana Bales has worked as a kitchen designer for the past 20 years. She got her start working with design teams on commercial kitchens thru out Washington, DC and Northern Virginia for ten years. Such projects included the Smithsonian-Natural History Museum, Freddie Mac Corporation, and the International Monetary Fund.

In 1999, Diana decided to change her focus away from commercial to residential design. She returned to college to earn her degree in residential interior design from Montgomery College. She assisted in the opening of the Expo Design Center in Bethesda, MD and became one of their kitchen designers once the store opened. Her ambition gave her an opportunity to start Beyond Design, Inc. in 2002 focusing on complete project management from design to construction completion.

Finally, Diana joined the team at Design House Kitchens in 2004 as a Project Manager. Since then, she has worked on many new custom home designs including all the models at Camberley Homes and worked with their customers on the Single Family/Town Home designs. Diana has also been published in Chesapeake Home Magazine and The Baltimore Sun.

She loves designing remodels because the before and after rewards are great for both her and her customers.

Leslee Dziarnowski

Leslee Dziarnowski

Leslee Dziarnowski joined our Savage, Maryland showroom in September 2010 as a designer.  She has a degree in Interior Design and brings 10 years of interior design experience, specializing in kitchen and bathrooms, to our team. 

Leslee works with her clients to complete a total finished project, ensuring that all details are addressed.  Always utilizing her creativity and inventiveness, she enjoys creating a unique and personalized space that is both beautiful and functional for their needs.  She works directly with clients to sort through all of the product possibilities out there to provide the best fit for them.  

Her completed projects include everything from designing and managing large multi-family apartment building renovations to high end residential remodeling to working with custom home builders to individual moderate renovations for clients and contractors.  Leslee truly loves what she does and nothing makes her happier than to see delighted clients in their wonderful new spaces.

Mark Williams

Mark Williams brings nearly 30 years experience in the kitchen and bath industry to the Savage design team. 

Mark’s extensive remodeling background gives him an edge when it comes to tackling even the most difficult spaces. Mark has a keen eye for detail and it shows in his architecturally pleasing designs. His portfolio of kitchens for new homes is equally impressive.

Mark’s expertise becomes very evident once he begins to dig into your project. He will effectively work with you to gather all the necessary information to build your dream kitchen around your personal needs and budget. Even if you aren’t sure what you want, he will help you every step of the way. He will insure that you are well informed about all of the design options and products available so that the decision making process is much easier.

Mark also has extensive experience working with professional appliance equipment and specialty treatments and trims for your new kitchen.
